So happy to hear from my friend Michelle Cook, Dine'. Michelle made it through the blizzard and is back at Oceti Sakowin in Standing Rock. Michelle is a newly appointed Commissioner of Human Rights for the Navajo Nation. She is a founding member of the Water Protectors Legal Collective, the attorneys serving the water protectors in Standing Rock Camp. She is a law graduate of the University of New Mexico, and now completing the Indigenous Peoples Law and Policy Program at the University of Arizona, in Tucson. She helped establish the Standing Rock Spirit Resistance Radio with Govinda in Standing Rock Camp during August and September.
