MARCH 2017

"We are all still out here. We will always be here! And so, thank you to all that remember us!" –Resister, John Benally

“Yes, we are here, and Big Mountain Dineh resistance continues to stand with the Standing Rock fight against the DAPL. We hope to continue building a network system to collaborate more and be apart of enhancing as well as strengthening indigenous resistance throughout the western hemisphere. Big Mountain Dineh elders and their extended family resisters will also work hard to maintain our involvement of exchanges, for liberation and in the defense of our ancestral lands and its natural resources. From the south to the north, Hoka Hey, the time for liberation is here!” – Kat Bahe, Big Mountain Dineh.
Dear friends of the resistance communities on Black Mesa and Big Mountain,
We hope this finds you as well as you can be in this difficult time and holding fast to the example of decades of ongoing resistance that the community members and elders of Black Mesa provide. We are writing to share updates from the ongoing resistance and cultural survival. See a longer update here.
There is an ask for supporters in for the busy spring time and particular there's a need for several supporters to come for the week of March 11th so families can go be part of this beautiful event in Los Angeles. Please email if you can come help herd sheep, cut wood, check on the lambs, and all the facets of life and work required by the communities commitment to staying on and protecting their ancestral homeland and the water that sustains it.

You can read updates on the closure of the Navajo Generating Station (the coal processing plant that processes coal from Black Mesa):

Please tell John B. that Alan and Maya from Davis, California send our love and ethereal support, even though we have not been to the land in many years. So glad to see a picture of you John to let us know you are well. I hope someone reading this will pass on to John.
