Mîyo kekisepayaw nîtotemînanak! (Good Morning our fellow people) Everyday that the Creator blesses you with waking up is like winning an award! And what an awesome award today is! What an awesome experience. Memories we will cherish for the rest of our lives and beyond. The emotion, the intensity, the spiritual presence one could feel from the get go of the performance. It was like millions of our ancestors were there, and we are sure they were. And all of our people back in their communities, their presence and emotions were also felt. Winning the award would have been nice, but the sheer joy and pride felt by First Nations people across Turtle Island at seeing our music/culture on that world stage for the first time was absolutely priceless. And we were blessed to be the messengers to deliver that! It was a true honour, and what a blast! It was a really good day to be First Nations/Indian. Hîy Hîy Mistâhi to all who sent well wishes, congrats, prayers, and kind words through this moment in time. It is you who inspires that spirit inside us to sing louder and prouder. All our brothers and sister in the group are very proud of having the opportunity to represent you all, and if we did anything that may have offended you in any way, that was not our intention. There will be another time, maybe for us or maybe some one else, but that door has been opened to bigger and better things for generations to come. "Always believe in who you are, where you come from, your identity, culture and language, it will take you places you never even dreamed of"! Now for the time being, cherish this moment with us and let's get on to the next one. See you at the next rounddance or powwow. For us that's this coming weekend in Whiteshield ND. Looking forward to being around the big mosom all together because we are one family. Please drop by the drum and say a big "Tansi" to us. No worries, we are like you, we live in the same communities and are proud of that, and who we are. Prayers to your homefires and blessings from our circle. "sakihitowin ekwa kisteyitowin" (love and respect) to all! Please share and like.
