Monday, April 16, 2007 – Racism on the Radio: Racist and sexist remarks made by radio talk show host Don Imus about the Rutgers women’s basketball team have led to his firing. He admitted he made a “stupid mistake” but the comment has sparked uproar and set off new national debate about racism. But a Houston-based shock jock recently made derogatory comments about Native Americans with little fanfare. Where do Native Americans stand on the issue of racism on the radio?
