Again, greetings and thank you for inviting Owe Aku International Justice Project to participate in the Liberty Square (aka Zucotti Park) event on Monday. Owe Aku is a Lakota grass-roots human rights organization based on our territories on the High Plains of North American with an international office here in NYC).

We have been watching the developments in lower Manhattan with a great deal of interest. Corporate greed and Indigenous history have for hundreds of years now been an integral part of our struggle to maintain our way of life, our territories, and our responsibilities to the environment for future generations.

Corporate greed has always been the driving factor for the global oppression and suffering of Indigenous populations. It is the driving factor for the conquest and continued suffering for the Indigenous peoples on this continent. It has always been inevitable that a system based on nothing but greed eventually impacts all human beings. Indigenous peoples have felt the pain pain for generations, but eventually corporate destruction of the environment will negatively impact all peoples. By understanding our suffering and history we may be able to help communicate the future that awaits us all if the American system continues as it is.

In our language, Lakota means allies. Owe Aku International Justice Project looks forward to speaking with you and forging an alliance on the issues that should concern human beings everywhere about human rights, the environment and the disconnect of Americanism that rules the United States. We sincerely hope and encourage representatives of other Indigenous nations and organizations to participate. I speak for no one except the Owe Aku organization whose elders and leaders have given me their permission to represent them. Therefore, we will be there on Monday at a time and place you wish to designate. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or comments.
